Meet the Groomer
Lisa Menze
National Certified Master Groomer (NDGAA), Certified Feline Master Groomer (NCGIA)
Lisa’s love of animals started in her youth. In fact, she grew up showing beautiful Arabian horses. In her mid-twenties, she transitioned into showing dogs, which lead her ultimately, to a career in professional grooming. She now has over 20 years experience as a groomer and has owned several pet wellness centers.
She loves all breeds of dogs and cats, particularly terriers. This is in part due to her affinity for their feisty personalities and in part because of the demands of their distinctive, unique coats. Grooming the wire-coated varieties in particular, requires a certain level of love, patience and a sense of humor; as they must be hand-stripped and carefully maintained in order to preserve the beauty and integrity of the hair. Lisa is a specialist in this time-intensive hand-stripping process and even trains other groomers in its proper methodology.
Lisa often travels to dog shows, cat shows and grooming competitions at both state and national levels. She has groomed and handled many award winning animals and as a result, is one of the few Master Groomers certified through both the National Dog Groomers Association (NDGAA) and the National Cat Groomers Institute of America (NCGIA). Grooming is a non-regulated industry, but as a Certified Master Groomer, Lisa is held to the highest standards of care and ethics.
